1. Microwave cover

Keeps the microwave clean of splatters so you don’t have to clean it as often. It’s BPA free and top-rack Dishwasher safe. Sometimes the simplest things can make all the difference!

2. Scrubby Dish Cloths

When I was a kid my mom used dishcloths to clean every dish, surface in the kitchen, and even my sticky pancake face before school. I always dreaded that hot soapy cloth coming toward me, because no matter if she had just got it out clean from the drawer, it would be so smelly! I gag just thinking about it today.

When I went looking for a cleaning utensil as an adult I realized that sponges have the same inherent problem. And Brushes just can’t get into every crevice and they are not very functional for cleaning surfaces.

After trying product after product to wash my dishes I just couldn’t find anything that would scrub well, didn’t get food stuck in it, and wouldn’t get nightmarishly stinky.

Until one fateful online browsing day, when I met the Lunatec Dishcloth.

It is all I’ve ever wanted.

The material is flexible and scrubs well, it doesn’t get food stuck in it, and they dry super fast so they won’t build up germs and smell.

And they are super durable. I bought a 4-pack of these about 3 years ago and I am just now thinking I may want to replace them. They are still working and don’t stink, but the material is beginning to fray a bit because they’ve taken a few spins in the disposal (whoops!).

If you only buy one new thing this year, make it these. They are my hands down favorite product in my kitchen.

3. The Best Dishwasher Tabs

These are my fave. I don’t have to go all OCD scrubbing the dishes before I actually wash them in the dishwasher. I know these will do the job and save me time.

4. White Towels

I used to use paper towels like crazy. It could get expensive and was extremely wasteful. I made the switch to towels and I am so glad I did because towels clean and absorb so much better than paper towels.

I still use paper napkins for hands and faces at meal times and to absorb grease from bacon.

But keeping a drawer full of kitchen towels that are thick, absorbent, and easy to care for are just the ticket to wipe up spills before they become an even bigger mess, even my 2 yr old knows the drill.

The white ones are my favorite because I can bleach them if needed.

5. Pan Scraper

Nothing cleans a dirty pan faster than letting it soak for a bit and then scraping off the gunk with one of these bad boys. They are made of hard plastic and have an ergonomic shape. It’s a super simple tool, but it does the job better than anything else.

6. Bar Keeper’s Friend

This is a multi-purpose cleaner that’s nothing fancy, but is a real workhorse for lots of surfaces. It is especially amazing at cleaning rust and hard-water stains. Just read the reviews on this product. People are falling in love with it! I just recently started using it, but I’ve gotta say I’m a fan.

7. Libman Freedom Mop

Think of this mop as your low-maintenace version of the swiffer wet-jet. It has re-usable, washable mop pads and it sprays the floor in front of the mop with the water/cleaning solution of your choice (I use a little Mr. Clean because it cleans well and smells fantastic!) with a simple pull of a trigger. No batteries or expensive refill mop pads required. I love mine and I’ve had it for over 2 years without having any issues.

8. Angled Broom and stand up Dust pan

I highly recommend getting an angled nylon broom and a stand up dust pan. No other kind of broom gets into corners as well (I like the O Cedar brand) and once I started using a stand up dust pan there was no going back. It’s easier to use than a traditional dust pan and it works better.

When you are using the best cleaning products in your home, that are specifically designed to work better, then you will be cleaning faster and have less moments of frustration.

I even enjoy cleaning with these products because I can depend on them to get the job done.

  1. If I spend any less time cleaning, someone will call the authorities. HAHA! OK, I’m not quite that bad yet…but I need to get things in order before T-giving and before decorations go up, for sure.

  2. Hey, I’ve never seen those pan scrapers. I’ve always used baking soda and prayers. LOL. That’s pretty cool and will have to check those out. Thanks for these tips. I’m a total loca over my kitchen and cookware. These are some really good suggestions.
